About DesTerm 128 DesTerm 128 is a fully featured terminal emulation program for the Commodore 128 computer. DesTerm has been a labour of love (and hate) since sometime around 1987. DesTerm is the firstterminal program available for the '128 that can communicate RELIABLY at 9600 baud withoutextra hardware. Additional hardware products (Swiftlink and HART) can be used to push thecommunication speed to 38400 and above. The terminal emulations include ANSI BBS, VT52,VT102 and Commodore Colour Graphics. (The VT102 is the most complete implementationavailable on the '128). DesTerm comes with its own ramdisk software for use with the 1700,1764 and 1750 REUs. This ramdisk can be used for any purpose that a regular 15x1 drive can beused for. The transfer protocols (Xmodem, Xmodem-1K, Ymodem, Punter (+ two multiplevariations)) have consistently been rated as the fastest available on the '128. Transfers to/from theramdisk allow the *full* bandwidth of the modem to be realized. Almost every aspect ofDesTerm can be modified via the comprehensive preference options. List of features: * Speeds up to 9600 baud (higher with external hardware) * Full ANSI, VT52, VT102 and Commodore Colour Graphics emulation * Xmodem, Xmodem-1K, Ymodem and Punter transfer protocols * Fully integrated REU ramdisk support * Large buffer, configured either as 700+ editable lines or 50k+ byte chunk * Automatic buffer saves upon fillup * Buffer editor * 1350/1351/Joystick support * Compatable with Commodore specific and all Hayes compatable modems * Screen dump to printer * Comprehensive disk/file maintenance tools * Enhanced pattern matching scheme built-in * Neat opening screen with a picture of me!
