COMPUTEREYES BY: RICK JOHNSON FROM: MEMPHIS COMMODORE USERS CLUB Computereyes is made by Digital Vision and goes for about $129.00. It includes the Computereyes module; the Executive, which is a menu-driven program that allows you to aquire images, view them, and save them to disk; and last the Computereyes manual. Now the only thing you need now is the video source. You can get this source from the following: * Video Recorders * Video Camera * Videodisk * Other Computers The only video input we are covering is what I'm using which is a black/white surveilance camera. This camera is an RCA Tc2000 closed-circuit camera mounted on a tripod with a 300W video light. Now as far as what I have put into this system' money wise' is listed below: Computereyes------------$109.00 RCA B/W Carmera---------$228.00 10ft Cable--------------$ 8.00 300W Video Light--------$109.00 Misc Cables/adaptor-----$ 25.00 As you can see it can run into a lot of money, but if you already own a video camera you probably already spent around $900.00 for it. But back to Computereyes, I really enjoy being able to have a picture and save it to disk to be later printed out as sign, greeting card, etc. There is a lot you can do with this equipment at home or at work. As to printing out the finished picture you need a graphic program such as, Doodle, Koala Printer, Print Shop, Print Master, Newsroom, Billboard Maker or Flexidraw. Computereyes comes with its own program that saves it to Computereyes format. The only printing program I know of that will load this format is the Billboard Maker. But there is a program called the Icon Factory, by Solutions Unlimited, that will load this format and save it back to most of the different graphic formats that are on the market today.
