3. Hello, Stocking
Have you read the raves about iPod?
CNET proclaims, "It's elegant, compact, and easy to navigate, and it can hold 10GB of MP3s--all reasons why the iPod has topped our most-wanted list for several months running."
The Rolling Stone's David Kushner, meanwhile, waxes even more enthusiastic. "A great invention doesn't just fulfill a need," he says. "It changes your life. And the iPod is truly great."
Would you like iTunes to read you the New York Times?
Every morning for the next month?
It's not only possible; it's free. Thanks to a special offer from Audible.com, you can take advantage of a free, one-month trial subscription to the audio version of the New York Times and digitally download the Times audio digest directly into iTunes.
Have an iPod? Then you'll also be able to listen to the New York Times on the way to work or during your morning jog.
And while you're visiting the site, be sure to check out some of the other great audio content--Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, Scientific American, Fresh Air, All Things Considered--available from Audible.com

5. Tips for Ten: Instant Column Resizing
In this issue, we offer this excerpt from Scott Kelby's "Mac OS X Killer Tips":
"If you're in Column View, you can get tired of resizing columns to accommodate long filenames. But Mac OS X v10.2 can do this for you. Just double-click on any resizing tab (they're the two little vertical lines at the bottom of each column), and Mac OS X v10.2 will automatically expand all the columns to accommodate the longest filename that appears in any column. Pretty sweet!"

6. Zoom In On Mac OS X
We want everyone to have as positive an experience with Mac OS X v10.2 Jaguar as possible, especially Macintosh customers who have impaired vision, have difficulty hearing, or who experience difficulty using a mouse or keyboard.
That's why we've incorporated such aids as Mouse Keys (allowing customers to use the numeric keypad instead of the mouse), Sticky Keys and Slow Keys, flashing the screen as an alternative to playing an alert sound, setting the display to grayscale, switching to white text on black (for greater contrast), text to speech (which will speak alerts for you), and our new Zoom feature, which is quite impressive.
To experiment with these features, open System Preferences and click the Universal Access icon.
Q. I manage a large music collection on my iMac at home. When I travel, I like to pack both my iPod and iBook and would like to listen to my music while I'm charging the iPod. Is that possible?
A. You can, of course, listen to your iPod while you charge it using the iPod Power Adapter. But you can also connect your iPod to your iBook (using a FireWire cable) and both charge your iPod and listen to music--even your playlists--through your iBook.
The trick? Connect iPod and temporarily enable the option to "Manually manage songs and playlists." You'll find step-by-step instructions in the Knowledge Base article, "How to Play Songs While Charging." When you return, you can turn automatic updating back on.
Artists, photographers, gamers, kids, road warriors. It doesn't matter who you're shopping for this holiday season. We have a wide assortment of gifts to suggest for your favorite Mac aficionado. From Mac OS X v.10.2 Jaguar. To a new iPod. To Canon digital cameras, HP DeskJet printers, ultra-portable storage devices, JBL Creature Speakers, the hottest games, and much more.
