1. iCal--Schedule Some Time to Download It Today
Little Jeremy needs to get to piano practice by 3:30, Hayley takes the soccer field at 4:00, and their parent/teacher conferences start at 7:30 tonight. You have a dentist appointment coming up on Tuesday and need to finalize the Petersburg contracts by next week.
Busy? Everyone is. More than ever. So it's great that iCal--available exclusively for Mac OS X v10.2 "Jaguar"--lets you create, manage, and view multiple calendars in a single window, making it easy to spot conflicts and identify free blocks of time.
If you have a .Mac account, you can even publish your calendars on the Internet, where family, friends, and colleagues at work or school can keep up with your hectic life--24 hours a day.
Like to find out about other iCal features? Then be sure to visit our website and put iCal to work for you.

2. When Do the Jets Play Miami?
Not only can you create, manage and share your own family's multiple calendars. But, thanks to another iCal feature, you can subscribe to calendars published on the web.
Professional and college sports calendars. Film festival schedules. Release schedules for new movies, DVDs, and audio CDs. Concerts. SAT test dates. And others.
Like to know when the new network and cable television programs will premiere? Or when events are scheduled for the Apple Store nearest you?
Subscribe to any--or all--of the long list of iCal calendars now available on our website.

3. How Much Storage Is Enough?
If you sequence DNA with BLAST, use MATLAB to perform advanced mathematical computation or analysis, create high-quality digital video projects with Final Cut Pro, or depend on your Mac for any number of storage-intensive activities, you know how easy it is to fill up even a large hard drive.
But storage isn't a concern with our new Power Mac G4 computers. Not when you can easily install up to four 120GB hard drives. Yes, the new Power Mac G4 offers four 3.5-inch drive bays and two ATA buses. Prefer to use SCSI drives? Simply install an optional SCSI card, and you can mix and match hard drives.

4. .Mac Adds Jaguar Support
Thanks to new features recently added to .Mac with the release of Mac OS X v10.2 "Jaguar" you can now:
* Use your Mac.com email address with iChat.
http://www.apple.com/macosx/jaguar/ichat.html
* Use .Mac Slides to share your digital photos. Drag your images onto the application, and .Mac Slides will transfer them to your iDisk and create a custom screen saver. Anyone using Mac OS X v10.2 "Jaguar" can enjoy your creativity, and the screen saver will update automatically as you change the show.
* Take advantage of the performance improvements and added capabilities of Backup 1.2. With this new version, you can back up large files (like your iPhoto or iTunes libraries) to multiple CD or DVD discs. We've also added more QuickPicks, enhanced the report log, streamlined controls, and added support for iCal.

5. Tips for Ten: Create a Custom Paper Size
One size doesn't always fit all.
Say you're a photographer creating panoramic images. Standard paper sizes won't cut it for you, so why not create a custom paper size for your prints?
It's easy with Mac OS X v10.2 "Jaguar." From your favorite application--Photoshop 7, for example--choose Page Setup from the File menu. Then,
1. Select Any printer from the Format for pop-up menu. 2. Select Custom Paper Size from the Settings pop-up menu. 3. Click New and name your new custom paper size. 4. Enter the appropriate height, width, and margins. 5. Click Save to save the custom paper size and OK to exit the Page Setup dialog.
Your new custom paper size will be available from the Custom Paper Size pop-up menu the next time you want to print a panoramic image.

7. Technically Speaking
When you install Mac OS X v10.2 "Jaguar," printer drivers for many popular Apple, Canon, Epson, Hewlett-Packard, and Lexmark printers are installed, as well. (Written by the manufacturers, printer drivers allow Mac OS X to communicate with a printer.)
You'll find a list of the supported printers when you read the Knowledge Base article, "Mac OS X 10.2: Included Ink Jet Printer Drivers," now available on our website.
Manufacturers are releasing new drivers all the time, so don't worry if you don't see your printer listed. Epson, for example, recently released a Mac OS X printer driver for the popular Epson Stylus Photo 1200 printer. And Canon just posted new drivers on its site that support borderless printing with Mac OS X v10.2.
Rendezvous--Apple's innovative new networking technology that makes it easy to connect to network devices without configuration hassles--is being widely adapted by leading electronics and technology companies. Philips, Canon, Xerox, Sybase, and World Book recently joined Epson, Hewlett-Packard, and Lexmark in announcing that they will soon be incorporating Rendezvous zero-configuration technology in their stereo systems, educational products, flat TVs, printers, and database management products.
Like to be a digital DJ? Professional DJ mixing comes to the digital domain thanks to Native Instruments (the award-winning audio software company), which has just released its first Mac OS X application--Traktor DJ Studio 2.0.
