It serves and receives info faster. This will only really show up on a fast machine running a web browser. My server is a bit snappier but I haven't really run any benchmarks on it. Open Transport was really holding up the performance on Mac Web Servers. The full release will be in OS8.1. It is also multihoming which was a problem for people running servers. It lets me serve up different IP addresses from the same machine without using any tricks (Telefinder was a virtual multihoming system) and with OT 1.3 it will be a true multihoming server. The beta of it that is floating around works on 68k or PowerPC Mac with no major problems that I can see and I would suggest someone trying it if they can get a copy. The version you are playing with is not a public release by any means.
