This announcement is from:
<mailto:JWBaumann@aol.com>
The LinkedResources Javascript Factory has posted FormMemory as a freeware AppleScript application. Currently at version 0.04, it leverages mature code which is entering its third year.
FormMemory is AutoFill* on steroids and FormSaver* for the masses. It is intended for Websurfers and Webmasters alike. The AppleScript is strictly for Websurfers.
The AppleScript application requires both Navigator and Explorer to function, but this is because of differing AppleScriptability in each browser; it does not use Explorer's AutoFill code in any way. Mozilla programmers, are you listening?
*AutoFill is a feature of Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser *FormSaver is a product of Pliner Solutions - http://www.pliner.com/

I was watching the Duralube/Big K-Mart 400 NASCAR race from Rockingham, North Carolina on TV Sunday. The race was great, but what really caught my eye was a shot of Bobby LaBonte's Joe Gibbs Racing pit crew. Crew chief Jimmy Makar was sitting in the spotter position on top of the crew truck and right in front of him, on a special mount, was a gorgeous translucent Apple flat-panel display. While Bobby didn't win the race, he finished in the top five and I'm sure Macs were instrumental in that performance.
I guess when you need a flat-panel display that can stand up to the extremes of weather and abuse inherent at a race track, plus can be legible in direct sunlight, you have to buy one with an Apple logo on it. Good going Apple.

With more and more deployment of DSL circuits, cable modems and other high-speed Internet access, more and more homes and small businesses are linking their internal networks to the Internet, and many of them are doing it via software routing.
The SW-ROUTERS-LIST has been set up to facilitate discussion, problem- solving, comparison of products and other purposes which fall under the general heading of software Internet routing. The list is meant to be primarily for Macintosh products, but discussions of other products which are to be used in a primarily-Mac environment are encouraged.

This tidbit is from:
Shawn King <mailto:shawn@ttalk.com>
The Mac Show can be found at: <http://www.themacshow.com>
Everyone at The Mac Show was proud of our "Special Announcement" during last week's show. The Mac Show is the only RealAudio show with its own "Official Brewery"! :-)
Redhook Ale Brewery (http://www.redhook.com), a national distributor of fine European standard ales, has received the designation of "The Official Brewery of The Mac Show".
Why? Well, they make several *delicious* beers, they are nice people and, they use Macs!
But, along with that honour comes responsibility. Redhook is giving us loads of stuff to give away!
So, if you live in the Seattle WA or Portsmouth NH area, or know someone who does, tune into the show on Wednesdays and win a dinner for two! We'll also be giving away other Redhook merchandise (but no beer!) to other winners.
On this week's show, we have rescheduled the interview with Reed Robinson of Hi Octane Johnny's, a Cafe in Dallas TX that has outfitted itself with a bunch of iMacs for its patrons. Find out how and why this Wednesday.
As usual, Stan Flack of MacCentral and "Jock Joystick" of MacGaming will be on to discuss the week's news.
And, join us on Wednesday, March 3rd for a very special "Roundtable Discussion" on Banner ads. We'll discuss the pros and cons with Stan Flack, Chris Breen of Macworld magazine and Kate Maddox of AdAge magazine. We'll also talk about the future of online advertising. So, if you make a living out of banner ads or make a living hating them, join us!
So join us early to reserve your seat and pull up a chair in one of our Java Chat or IRC Rooms!

This request is from:
Kevin Gillespie <mailto:KGILLESP@postique.com>
Howdy all! I'm in need of a a software solution to create and print title strips for my recently re-commissioned Wurlitzer jukebox. I have been able to uncover a couple schemes, both of which would require me to light up my Virtual PC. But, to be frank, I'd rather not reward these misguided programmers for their inability to get to the real solution.... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This request is from:
Dan Pedersen <mailto:dan@profunda.dk>
I hope you can help me with this one... We have produced a spreadsheet and as we are now getting funded, we have the means for implementing Import/Export capabilities into our spreadsheet. But, as we have not got all the money in the world, we need to start with a number of formats - then follow up as soon as possible. Therefore, you would help us in a BIG way if you would be kind enough to tell us which spreadsheet formats you would like to be supported in a spreadheet - besides that of the newest version of Excel, that is... - - would it be an older version of Excel, or would it be Lotus?

This tidbit is from:
David Kingsbury <mailto:david@glpguides.com>
I've been supporting Macs in a large corporation for several years and have recently started my own software company on the side--Golden Links Publishing. We are, of course, an all Mac company that develops cross-platform CD-ROM golf guides.
Our first product is called Minnesota Golden Links and just started shipping last week for $39.95. Features include color pictures, detailed club and course information and mock scorecards on over 350 golf courses in the state, including top courses like Rush Creek, Giants Ridge, The Classic at Madden's and The Pines at Grand View Lodge. We even have a few QTVR panoramas!
I'm not sure how many Evangelistas are from Minnesota, but we are in development on guides for several other areas and would love to hear from any Mac-owning golfers. You can visit us at <http://www.glpguides.com> or write to me at <mailto:david@glpguides.com>. We hope to add on-line ordering soon, but guides can be ordered now by downloading and printing out our pdf flier. Order before April 15th (when we hope all the snow will be gone) and mention the Evangelist on your order form and we'll pay for your shipping!

Date: Thu, 4 Mar 1999 02:05:37 -0800 From: The EvangeList Mailing List <evangelist@apple.com> Subject: PR - Default Folder 3.0 Released
St. Clair Software has released version 3.0 of Default Folder, its control panel for enhancing Open and Save dialogs. This major upgrade provides full support for Apple's new Navigation Services Open and Save dialogs, as well as continuing improvements for "classic" Open and Save dialogs.
Application developers have been quickly adopting the new, improved "Navigation Services" Open and Save dialogs which Apple introduced in Mac OS 8.5. However, because some applications support Navigation Services and some don't, the disparity in features can cause confusion and frustration for users. In addition, Navigation Services still doesn't go far enough in helping users navigate among the many folders on their hard disks.
Default Folder 3.0 provides quick and easy access to users' favorite and recently used folders in all Open and Save dialogs, including Navigation Services dialogs. It also provides a host of other convenient file and folder management features, including the ability to click on Finder windows to display the contents of folders, and the capability of setting a default folder for any or all applications.
Further details and links to download the latest release are available from:
Default Folder 3.0 is a free upgrade for users who registered a previous version after January 31, 1998. There is a $15 upgrade fee for users who purchased Default Folder on or before that date.
