Show Info(tm) 2.0
Written by Chris Johnson and enhancements by Chris Silverberg of Spider Island Software.
Copyright ©1991-1994, Arizona Macintosh Users Group Inc./Michael Bean

Installation:
Launch this file to decompress it's contents.
Users of previous versions of TF Commenter, we recommend that you remove TF Commenter and rebuild your desktop (hold down the command & option keys during startup) since this version has some new information in it.

Description:
Show Info(tm) 2.0 is an upgrade of TF Commenter which was purchased by the Arizona Macintosh Users Group from Chris Johnson. It is designed to be the easiest way to view descriptions/pict previews and decompress files on the AMUG CD-ROM, "BBS in a BOX". If the file you are previewing is an art, font or a QT movie then a pict preview will be displayed on the left side and the description on the right. If the file does not contain a pict preview only the description window will be displayed.

You may drag and drop multiple or single files from "BBS in a BOX" on top of Show Info(tm) to view their descriptions and pict previews when available. You may also write descriptions in the description box and save them to disk. In this version of Show Info you cannot paste pict previews into the file, only read them.

Decompression:
We have added several new features in this version of Show Info(tm) 2.0 including the use of AppleEvents to decompress your files via StuffitExpander. The "Expand" button performs this task. In order for it to work, users must be running system 7, and StuffitExpander must be either (a) currently running or (b) on the same drive as current system folder. If StuffitExpander is not running, it will be launched by Show Info(tm) 2.0 and sent the event to uncompress the selected file. StuffitExpander will automatically quit when it finishes. The "Expand" button will gray out when files are selected that StuffitExpander cannot decompress.

TeleFinder/User is the application that connects your Macintosh or PC to a TeleFinder bulletin board system (BBS via modems, ISDN or the Intenet).

Through the TeleFinder/User-BBS interface, you'll find business services, customer support, as well as friendly chat. A BBS can also serve as a conference forum, provide electronic mail service, and store files to be transferred.

Each individual or company operating the BBS (the sysop) determines which services to offer its callers. The Sysop also decides whether the BBS will be open to public use, or kept for private use.

TeleFinder provides an easy to use interface to work with files, mail and messages by simply clicking and dragging icons.

TeleFinder also includes a text editor, address book, and a mail outbox for automating the pickup and delivery of mail.

Version 5.7.2 supports multiple selections, copy & paste, drag & drop in the Address Book.

Worm Gobbler v1.1 - Autostart virus scanning utility

See Lineaux's web page at http://www.lineaux.com for information on the Autostart virus. Worm Gobbler is the new name of this software; the new name should prevent confusion with Ealy Bird, the excellent shareware reminder tool.

To use the Worm Gobbler utility,
1. open your Quicktime Settings control panel (If you do not have a Quicktime
Settings control panel, see the section below titled "Quicktime 2.0 users".)
Select the "autoplay" popup menu. Make sure "Enable CD-ROM Autoplay" is
unchecked. This will help prevent the virus from spreading. Audio Autoplay is
safe.

2. Restart with Extensions off by holding down the shift key.

3. Run the Worm Gobbler Application. It will scan for and remove the virus files.

4. Restart. If Worm Gobbler found any virus files, be sure to mount and scan
removable media. You can safely run Worm Gobbler with extensions on, since Worm
Gobbler would have already deleted the evil invisible Desktop Print Spooler and
Desktop Printr Spooler Extensions(Incidentally, a visible Extension named Desktop
Printer Spooler is legitimate).

5. Run your favorite hard drive diagnostic software. The worm modifies
information in the boot blocks of infected media Specifically, it modifies
the boot block values for the clipboard name. Run Norton Disk Doctor or Apple
Disk First Aid to fix.
