Find
The Find feature allows you to search one note or the entire notepad for a word or phrase. If matching text is found, that portion of the note is displayed in the current view. Otherwise, a message is displayed indicating no match was found. Various options can be set to perform the search in a certain way. Check "Match Whole Words" to limit a search to whole words rather than just a combination of characters. "Match Case" finds only those instances of the text with the same letter case. "Wrap Around" searches the note from the current cursor position to the end of the note, then looks from the note beginning to the cursor. Checking the "Search Notepad" option sets the search to look in the entire notepad rather than just the note in the current view. To use the Find feature, go to the Edit menu, Find menu item, then on to the sub-menu Find In Note: (or use the standard shortcut "cmd+F"). This will display the Find dialog. Type the word or phrase you want to locate in the space after Find the Text, then click the Find button to start the search. To repeat, hit Find again (or use the standard shortcut "cmd+G"). Text in a note can also be changed using the Replace function. To replace a word or phrase in a note, type the text to be changed in the Find the Text field then put the replacement text in Replace with. Now choose the Find and Replace button to replace only the next occurrence or use the Replace All button to change all occurrences of the text. Return to TopXNotes Main Help page. |
